I recently picked up a 98 ranger, 4x4, 3.0, and it was running rough when I got it. It has the codes listed above, so I changed out the O2 sensors, no effect. It's running rough still, super rich, black soot in the exhaust. I changed the DPFE sensor, coolant temp sensor, still no effect. I have ordered a new MAF sensor, IAC sensor, PCV valve, and spark plugs. I have noticed however, during live mode on my scan tool, that even without touching the throttle, the calculated load value is 43%+ but it DECREASES when I press the pedal. Also, while the engine is running, I can disconnect the MAF sensor, and even though there's a split second hesitation, the engine runs just like it did. If I disconnect the IAC sensor when the engine is running, it dies immediately. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
is that for your year ranger? I would look for a post that has the numbers with what they are. just check all the fuses. this is in the engine bay drivers side.
to me the numbers didnt make any sense on STFT, LTFT and the O2 sensors. someone else will have to figure this out. I was trying the easy things to check first. Good Luck
Having the same problems with my 2002, p1132, p1150 and p1152 codes, change o2 sensors, coolant temp sensor, maf senso, purge valve, canister valve, pcv valve and truck still stalling, any idea
No I haven’t but I did check fuel pressure and it’s at 61psi, did change fuel pressure regulator, maf, coolant temp sen, o2 sensors, purge valve, canister valve, fuel filter and pcv valve and still no luck, truck running rich with all them new parts
if you can see the fuel trims you might be able to see what bank is rich or if both are the same. I one was running rich could be a sticky injector? if both were close to the same that should eliminate that?
I use the app FORScan Lite and my phone or iPad theres lot of info there it doest take a bit to understand it.
ok so I keep getting the p1152 code on my 02 3.0 power ranger, I have replaced almost all sensors and valves that I can thinks of but still getting this code, here is a pic of trim levels, idk if there are right or what but any help will be greatly appreciate
something is off and im not sure how to ready your numbers. but something there is -29 looks like ST is rich and LT is good. did you replace the O2 sensors? should be 3 the 2 top ones are needed for fuel trims. I got this off the internet.... With the engine idling, look at the Short Term Fuel Trim (STFT) and Long Term Fuel Trim (LTFT) values. Normal range may be high as plus or minus 8, but closer to zero is best. If the numbers are +10 or higher for STFT and LTFT, your engine is running LEAN
I just looked around a bit to see if I could get any information . the only thing that made any sense was a possibility of a vacuum leak. both banks are the same 1 and 2 its so could be something like a vacuum leak.
