PDPRacing 3.0

This is directed to NicksterSVT. I was watching a video on streetfire of a modified 3.0 and I was just trying to get a little information on what was done to it. Thanks!

Sorry I missed this! That ranger was a total disaster. I know why people dont go too nuts trying to build the 3.0l. We built that motor back early 07 and it never really made any good numbers. .030 block, wiseco custom pistons, shot peened factory rods, p&p heads, roller rockers, custom cam grind, and 30lb injectors. The intake just wouldnt flow and the guy didnt want to build a sheet metal intake for it. Transmissions kept falling out and everything else on the truck was half-assed(not by me!). The guy ended up selling that truck and hasnt looked back since. I dont think it made more than 260hp. For the amount of money, it wasnt worth that poor poor number.

Hmm... well that discourages me a little. The roller rockers, port and polished head, and a port matched intake is all I would ever want. I don't want big power, if ever I decide to do something major to the engine.

Why even bother with any of the Ranger v6's, thats what I don't get. If you are at all serious about power, you should atleast have a 302 in the truck.

To be different. I understand I won't ever make that much power with my little 3.0, but I would like a little more out of it.

turbo 2.3L or buying a supercharger for the V6 is cheapest / reliable way to go... looking at it from a daily driver aspect...

if your looking for a litte more power just get a K&N air intake, and super chip, put a glass pack or a flowmaster muffler on, could always turbo it or supercharge it if you have the money.. This should give maybe what your looking for. Gives a little bit more Hp..

y bother? y put an ancient pushrod 302 in a ranger? y not put a hemi or duramax in it??? its all in what YOU want. Seriously, you can make power with anything, it just depends on how much you want to spend... Why would you buy a ranger with just a piddly little 6 cylinder? why wouldnt you just buy a jeep or something, something made for trails and 35s?

Do you see my point?

yeah I agree - forged ***** to the wall turbo 2.3 ftw.

Shot-peen'd factory rods? lol - billet forged rods are the only way to go.
