i have a 2003 v6 3.0 ranger that I just bought a few weeks ago. The problem is as soon as I start it up and put it in drive no matter if the engine is hot or cold I push the gas pedal and at about 2000 rpm it starts to make this whinnying/hissing sound when I push the gas and I have zero power like I can slam the gas pedal and the engine struggles and it’s hard to jump out into traffic because it has no kinda acceleration and the check engine light flashes and it’s driving me crazy!!!

 

Flashing check engine light typically means an active misfire. Check the codes and post them here.
