Power Steering Pump Replacement Question

I have a 1997 ford ranger and and need to replace the power steering pump. It seems there are two ways to replace it?

1) Pull the pulley off with a gear puller while the pulley is in place and remove the bolts from the front of the pump.

2) Remove the bracket and the pump together.

Which is the best way to go about taking it off? It seems if I take the pump and bracket off, then I would need to remove the ac compressor and maybe much more....

Thanks...

Just take the belt off and remove it.

seems that you need to pull the power steering pump pulley off with a puller, since it is attached to the bracket.
