ranger 3.0 harmonic balancer
ranger 3.0 harmonic balancer
So I have been trying to get the center bolt off the harmonic balancer for a couple of days now, before I go out and buy a better impact wrench can anyone tell me for sure if i ma turning the bolt the right way. I am working it like it is normal threads and turning it counterclockwise(standing in front of truck) to try to loosen it - is this correct, or could it be reverse threads.
thanks for any help or clarification

Yes.... you are trying to turn the bolt the correct way to get it out (counter clockwise, normal right hand thread). I had mine off last fall to replace the
timing cover gasket. It is a 14mm fine thread fastener. I bought a longer bolt to
get the balancer started back on the crank since the stock bolt is too short to
get balancer started.

I always use a map has torch to heat stubborn bolts up. Makes a big difference
Also.....I broke a crank pulley bolt. The smaller ones that hold the pulley on. They have a lot of red lock tight on have to melt the lock tight and then remove them.
