Ranger not idling right, hesitating at stop
I have a 2003 Ford Ranger Auto 3.0 that is acting like it wants to die at a stop light, and when you rev it in neutral, it only goes to around 3000rpm and vibrates badly. I assume that there is a rev limiter, but the vibration is not normal. Could this be the IAC? I have checked the plugs and wires, and tried a tank of different gas and it is still doing this. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

check for a vacuum leak, possibly in the EGR (I think that's what it is) line that runs around the top of the intake. i had a leak in the small rubber hose that makes the corner, and my truck was acting exactly as you describe yours...
the auto parts places don't stock the replacement, you'll have to go to the dealer... but it's like $30, and you can put it on yourself without any trouble

Okay, there is no vacuum leak that I can see. Checked all of the hoses and elbows. All are new looking. I had a check engine code of cylinder 1 misfire. Replaced the ignition coil, plugs and wires. Plugs are the Auotlite platinums that it is supposed to have. I am still having the issue. A very prominent miss at idle and while driving. Please help guys. I can't keep putting money into this. I am at a total loss as to what it is. I cleared the code and it has not come back on. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks a ton in advance!
