my 98 3.0 isn't running right. it shudders, pops and shakes. I checked the coil pack and the wires are getting spark. code pulled says c3 misfire (p303). unplugged the MAF while truck was running and didn't make a difference.

leaning towards injectors (although I ran some cleaner through the gas tank) or a new MAF but would like to know what yall think before I do anthing.

no, but it is an irregular miss. doesn't that rule out plugs?

 

Not necessarily. I just had the same problem in mine. Turned out that I had a plug with a bad crack. I only noticed the problem under moderate accelleration. Under light throttle, it was running smooth. I was sure it was something else, until I found the cracked plug.

 

the misfire is a little more severe. but I'll check it later on and let you know.

also I don't know if this changes anything, there is a smell from the exhaust, like it's running rich.
