slow 93 3.0 ranger
slow 93 3.0 ranger
look i know the 3.0 ranger ls are slow i get it but i have a e fan and 1.7 roller rockers and the ac has been removed a manual and 3.73 with 30inch tall tires and i have to shift every shift basically at redline to get up to speed and i can’t ever use 4th without being wide open in 4th and needless to say i’ve never even got to use 5th is this normal ? i’ve done plugs new coil new fuel filter new distributor it’s also hard to get moving from a complete stop especially uphill maybe a gearing thing ? i have a set of 4.56 laying around i could throw in it any advice ?
3.73 with 30" tires will be 3.36
4.10 with 30" will be 3.73 again
3.0l Vulcan was designed as a High RPM engine
Most engines make best power(torque) at 2,500RPM, best HP at 4,000RPM, red line 5,000RPM
3.0l makes best power at 3,500RPM, best HP at 5,000RPM, red line 6,000RPM
If you drive it like "most" engines then yes, gutless, you need to keep the RPMs higher
Cruising RPMs for best MPG would be at 2,800-3,000RPM
4.10 with 30" will be 3.73 again
