Hi guys new to the forum curtesy of my nephew getting an 3.0 03 Ranger. We’re having starting hesitation issues. The trunk has to crank sometimes up to 5 seconds to start. I did my basic tune up wires,plugs, ignition coil, cleaned up throttle body, oil change trying to rule out the basics. Everything electrical sounds healthy but haven’t ruled it out yet, but at the moment I moved on to fuel. So I went to check the fuel pressure and I an getting about 55psi. My gauge doesn’t show pressure with the key on. The pressure on the gauge doesn’t start going up until the truck has been running for about two minutes, and as soon as I turn the truck off the pressure drops immediately. I don’t see a leak at injectors seals nor do I believe an injector is leaking. Are y’all thinking bad fuel pump? Thanks in advance


Update: It was the fuel pressure regulator which is on the pump in case anyone runs into this issue in the future.
