Still don't have a temp gauge. I've: checked both the red/ white and black leads. BOTH checked out as ok. So I changed the sensor ( auto zone not a cheapo) No change ,still no gauge. Gauge did go full hot on jumping the two terminals and jumping the red/white. Any Ideas appreciated,tia,Joe

 

Good chance they gave you a temp sensor, you need a temp sender.

Sensor is for the computer to know engine temp,

Sender is for the gauge

 

Is the computer sensor one wire or two? I know the coolant sender is two

Update: Supercab 2011 you are right ,I have the wrong piece. I've got the sensor NOT the sender. Will correct this and hopefully solve my dilemma. Thank you for that info👍💯👍

 

yes most auto parts stores dont know the difference and that there are 2 they just do what the computer tells them to do , both different. sender and sensor.
