tarus swap

does anybody know will a 98 tarus engine swap easy.

i dont think you can swap a fwd motor into a rwd truck

you can, the blocks are essentially the same, its the trans and mounts that are different.
that said, why would you want to swap a taurus engine into a ranger in the first place ? (unless its the SHO engine)

my son blew the motor in his truck, and a guy at work had a tree fall on his sons taurus with a 3.0. so sounds good for a swap, as long as it can be done easy.

yeah you can i did it for my friends truck he threw a rod but you have to change your head gaskets,and oil pan. im sure there is more but i cant remember right now

why the head gaskets? are the heads the same?? i think his has a bad head

I believe heads should be the same. prob the. Intake, Valve covers, oil pan, headers, front pullies should all be different

it doesnt really matter if his heads are bad or not, if your going to take the time to swap the engine, you should take the time to change as much out as you possibly can.
replace gaskets (unless they are brand new), replace timing and anything associated with the timing, possibly the pulleys.
