Hello I have 93 ranger 3.0 automatic I have been trying to fix for my daughter. While driving 1st gear revs high, you left of gas it shifts into 2nd, you apply gas again and it doesn't feel like its pulling then it doesn't want to go into drive. Park to reverse to drive and back shift fine, shift kind of hard but it shifts.please help. Thanks

 

Last time I had a car acting like that. Strange shifting behavior. Was a ford escorts I bought for 1500. During the test drive it had trouble going into reverse with automatic tranny. Went to park then back and it worked fine. Thought it was a fluke. It wasn't. A week later car was stuck in 1st and I had to drive all the way home took about an hour with engine whining up near redline doing 30mph. Never figured out the problem just junked the car. Might be a bad sign. Not too familiar with automatics. I'd check your fluid level make sure that's good. Other than that depending on your level of know how maybe tear into it or have a mechanic look at it. But I'd be careful driving it. Stay close to home with it for time being.
