I have a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0 L I want to know if I can fit a valve body from a 97 Ford ranger 3.0 L or how can I tell what valve cover do I need and how can I tell which one is which they look the same to me at the solenoids are different

1995 to 2000 Ranger 3.0l used the 4R44E automatics, so should be no problem, although new valve bodies have bonded gaskets which are better than those used at that time.

Although I have never used it many suggest the Transgo SK 44-55E shift kit when doing valve body work
