I bought MSD (Brand) wires P/n 3112 from summit racing. First package I received looked like it was already opened. Aside from that they dont fit my truck. I have a 2003 Ranger edge 3.0 Flex Fuel. I am curious what wires people are using. I usually put motorcraft, but want to put performance wires if they are available...Any Suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

I used JBA the last time I changed them. Since you basically have a stock truck you should just get stock wires.

If you really want aftermarket wires JBA, Magnacore and Taylor make a set.

 

I have a set of NGK wires. Don't waste your money on "performance" wires. You have a 3.slow, not a V8. You wont see any gains besides a lighter wallet

 

Im not keeping my truck stock for very long, i just want to try other wires. Ill look into the the ones you pointed out...BTW my wallet wont feel so light (Chainfire)

 

Still man. The only way you would need wires is if you had a higher voltage coil, better plugs and lots of boost to the point where it blows the spark away.

 

get some motrocraft and youll be happy you did because i was happy with my decision and i changed mine on tuesday

 

I just use whatever Advance Auto has in stock for cheap haha. Truck runs and gets me from point A to B, so it's alright.

 

I used Motorcraft wires and plugs when I swapped mine out. My coil pack went out for cyl 6 and I replaced that with Motorcraft as well.

No need to go for performance parts on a stock un-tuned engine. Just like putting anything higher then 84 in a stock engine....no gains, just a lighter wallet.

 

I went with the Autolite Double platinum, and they have worked very well for me. I used motorcraft wires. I did my tune-up around 60k instead of waiting until 100k. Restored new truck performance.

Hhaha....E3 plugs. I used them on pops Pathfinder and i got ping city. I am like 4 hours away from doing my tune-up and i have both, E3's(bought same time i bought the ones for the pathy) and motorcraft, which i bought after the issue with the pathy. Are you SURE you are having no issues?? What was the outside temp you were running in?? Octane, etc.

I got Taylor. They look good but sometimes interfere w/ the radio in the rain. Not too impressed. They were the same $ as stock at the time and the blue looks better. Nothing exciting to say about them, they are wires. They have a lifetime guarantee while the stock were good for 30 days or so.

 

I installed double platinum Champions and JBA wires at 45K and it ran much better, especially at the low end.
