Wheeling belt chirp

If its one thing i can not stand its belt noise. Every time i go wheeling i end up with belt chirp or a squeeling. As far as i know there is no fix for the noise but a new belt. Why are they getting ruined? And is there anything you guys have done to prevent this from occurung?

I learned that if a belt chirps and goes away when wter is applied to ribs. There is a misalignment of the pulleys. My power steering pump was somehow pushed in. I appled a puller and aligned it and no more chirp.
