Where to?
Where to?
Hey guys,
This forum is as close as I could find on this site, so I'll have to start here.
Looks like I'm back in the Ford light truck game again. Bought an 85 this time. Wanted an old carbureted truck. But, seems this site doesn't cover motors that old. So do you guys have any pointers to places I can get info on:
2.8 v6 (the predecessor to the 2.9 v6 FI engine)
Autolite 2100 carburetor
How to rebuild an FM-145 5-speed manual transmission.
It's still moving under it's own power, but an apt comparison would be moving like an old geezer on his way to his death bed unless he finds the Fountain of Youth between the bathroom and the bed. Just like an old timer has to use nitro patches, you have to keep this thing rev'ed up to keep it from stalling out. Also like an old timer, once you get going in a gear, you'll be in that gear a while - the shifter fights going into gear (particularly 1st gear).
Hope you enjoyed reading that as much as I enjoyed laughing at my own stupid jokes.
Mud in your eye!
