New.....question.

I'm new to the ranger, i've normally work and mess around with mustangs. My girlfriend just recently traded her motorcycle for a 1993 Ranger 4.0. It seems to be a good little truck over all it runs strong. But I do have a question about the gear shifter. It has alot of play when the truck is in gear is this normal for the or not? For example say you are in third gear the shifter can move atleast 1 1/2 if not more both ways.. so what is up with that?

the shifter is rubber mounted, but you can check and see if the both that holds it on is tight.

I don't think that is normal. I have a 96 and mine doesn't have any play in it while in gear.

I think there is a rubber piece down there that gets worn and can be replaced for pretty cheap.
