Hi all! I have a 2001 XLT 3.0 4wd Automatic. Its giving me a head scratcher. It will not start at all. Yesterday I was driving my truck to the store came out and no start. By some miracle the person parked in front of me had a jump starter. Fired right up. Went to another store, this time had to call a buddy to give me a jump, came out and started right up.nI figured too easy, time to replace the battery. Put the new one in today, turn the key to the ON position all lights come on, dash too. Turn to crank and NOTHING, not even a click. So I park my other vehicle next to it to try amd jump it and nothing no click at all again. I'm stuck. Could it be my starter since I'm not even hearing a click? Starter solenoid? (Not sure if there's a fender mounted one I looked around the engine bay but couldn't see anything). HELP PLEASE

Just had this same issue with mine... Check two things... I found that my 12V terminal on the starter solenoid was not even finger tight. If it is that loose... It wont start!

The other is the signal wire going to the starter. (Attached to the solenoid beside the red 12V line) Apparently there is a TSB out that states the last 4 inches of this connector wire can become corroded and loose connectivity. And... It could also be the starter itself.

I actually found figured out the fix. My column shifter was loose. The truck would fire up when I would place it im neutral. When I got under the steering wheel, one of the bolts holding the shifter was extremely loose. Got some loctite and tightened it back up. Starts from Park everytime now. Thabks for your response and information
