Worth rebuilding? 96 3.0
Basically I'd like to know if anyone thinks it would be worth the time and money to fine comb through my engine. I'm the 4th owner of the truck. Original buyer. My dad. Older brother. Then me. My brother gave the truck total hell in the off road comunity. (Not a 4x4) truck has had the check engine light on for so many years it finally burned out. Mostly from a custom exhaust my brother built that removed a few sensors. Truck over heated one day. Cracked a head. Replaced all gaskets new heads. Water pump thermostat. Didn't bother to check the piston rings. Now both center cylinders are showing signs of oil. Coating the spark plugs fairly thick. Truck doesn't like to start hot. Has all sorts of idle issues. Bucks and hesitates on acceleration. Could have a bad ignition. Have to push clutch completely to floor to engage the starter. 5 speed. Let me rephrase that. I have to push clutch into the floor to the point of thinking I may actually break the pedal. So a quick summary would be. Truck has horrible compression. Needs a few hundred dollars worth of sensors replaced. Probably will need to have the block sent to a shop to have the cylinders worked. I guess the truck has close to 200k miles. It wasn't counting for a few years until I decided to order the little plastic gear that's was so infamous of just shattering. Basically what do you guys think. I don't exactly have the money for a new truck. Or a used truck. What are the price ranges and option I have as far as giving a 20 year old truck new life. Iv thought about putting that twin turbo 3.5 in it if I ever become rich lol.
