2019 Ranger Tail Lights are serious $$$

So unfortunately I'm writing you today to tell you my Ranger was in a dinger this weekend up in the mountains. Trying to pack down snow (1'5" deep) for a front wheel drive van to make it to a cabin, I managed to slip backing up and my left rear tail light got broke by a fence as I slide into it. No other damage or scratches, but hit just perfectly to break out about 2 golf ball sized chips in the plastic.

Wast really that bummed until I seen that the avg price for the housing is about $950!! Not to mention, I has just had tint put on them as well. Now that will cost me another $75 or so on top!

Needless to say, magic with electrical tape will hold it it until the new one arrives, but my baby is hurt. Just thought I would share for those who haven't had to replace anything yet on the 2019+ Ranger models... Its gonna hurt the bank. There went my suspension package :(

Ouch. I'll stick to my $40 pair on ebay.

$950? For a hunk of plastic?

Yes, that is clearly a case of "because we can". Or else they did not sell enough Rangers to amortize the mold cost, and are taking it out of the folks who need replacements, which is basically the same thing.

840$ For part with shipping, and then 75$ to get it re-tinted to match the other. Crazy prices! No more helping in snow for me!
