2020 lariat flat tow
We flat tow or Ranger behind our class A motorhome. Everything works except the mileage continues to accumulate even in flat tow mode.
Any way to turn that off? Our engine has 32000 running miles on it, and 8000 flat tow miles.

I tow my 2020 lariat 4X4 behind our motorhome and the mileage dose not accumulate at all. We have been towing it for the last 3 years and last year we did 6000 miles in 3 months NO flat tow accumulates. Something dose not sound right. I always use the manual to put it into tow mode, could you be missing a step? Hope you figure it out.
2019, and up, Ranger 4x4s can be used for flat towing and it will not show on odometer, if it does then something is wrong
The method used for flat towing is to put Transfer case in Neutral, this is why only automatics with 4x4 could be used for flat towing
The Speed sensor(OSS) is on the rear of transmission, and transmission should not be spinning when flat towing, if it is then transmission will burn out/up
If you look at pictures of the transfer cases for these there are no "sensors", just a plug in for shift motor, so there is no "speed sensor" in the transfer case, just on the transmission which should not be spinning
There were a few reports of these model Rangers not going fully into Neutral and burning up transmissions, so heads up on that

Markierm I will check that out we have a weekend trip in the 1st part of April. With the trip meter set to zero and when you check it later that day is the mileage also added up on the main mileage meter or just the trip? I think Ron makes a very good point

Well, Markierm I went down south flat towing my 2020 Lariat 4x4behind our motorhome I set my trip meters both to zero and when I got to my location, I checked both trip meters and were zero I also checked my odometer meter, and it didn't change at all from when I left my home. Something isn't right with your Ranger,
