Ordered a 2021 XLT Ranger on December 14th of 2020. I have the VIN # and check it on the site. Still not in production. Anyone have any ideas on how production or builds are going?

 

you have to get in touch with your salesman to see if the plant scheduled your build yet

 

Thanks! Just got word on the Ford site that it just went into production. Talking with my salesperson, is not a great experience. It seems like spending 40k is no big deal now days. Thank for the reply!

Congrats! I have been waiting since December 14th, and it is finally in production. Hopefully your weight will not be as long. Once you get a VIN #, that is supplied by your dealership, you can track your truck. The site that has the most information is https://www.ford.com/custom-order/

The order date was December 14th. The delivery date to the dealership was estimated on March 22nd. I have had two delays and the estimated delivery to the dealership is now March 31st. I have been in contact with the new car manager from the dealership, and he said that the website is right on track. This is getting frustrating, to say the least. I was promised upon ordering that it would be in no later than the end of February. With all that is going on in the world, it is inevitable for the delays, that doesn't make it easier.

 

Yes, the parts supply line was really slowed down over the past year

Many system sub-parts are needed to assemble a finished product
Some of the electronic systems I use are being held up by 1 or 2 parts needed to finish assembly on say a circuit board and that's from a factory shut down 10 months ago and it was only closed down for 30-60 days
But once the "pipeline" runs dry assembly plants are stuck for those models needing those parts, and that cascades down the line, domino effect

If your delivery date is still no more than 60days late you are fortunate indeed

 

I have one on order, Ordered on March 3rd, guess I won't get it until mid June. I was told 6 to 8 weeks guess that was slightly incorrect.

 

Just got the word that mine is at the dealersip. Could not be more relieved. It has been a long wait. When looking at the website tracker, don't take it as fact. It changes all the time. Mine was going to be delivered 4 different times and the the lead time was extended. Nothing you can do except sit and wait. Let you all know how it rides : ) Welcome!

I inquired about a 2021 Super Cab XLT, was told 24 to 32 week lead time. I'll wait until production is back in full swing. That way I'll have more for a down payment.
