Suspension Part Identification

Hello,

If someone could identify the orange part circled in the below picture I would appreciate it. Is this a Sumo Spring? Is the lower tip of it being chewed up from impact normal? This is a nearly brand new truck.

Thank you. Now that I know what it's called, I did some googling and see other forum posts indicating that the hole/wear on the end of the bump stop is normal.
