Tailgate Damper
I installed one from Ford on my Sisters 2020 Ranger. She loves it. I think Ford uses the same one you ordered but charge 2 or 3 time more money :). I used a youtube video to make sure I didn't make any mistakes on the install. Very easy to install, even without the youtube video. I just didn't want to mess up my Sisters new truck :)
It should have come with one from the factory.....along with weather stripping for the tailgate.
I put a hard tonneau cover on and the back end gets filthy in a short time.
The gap at the bottom of the tailgate creates a natural updraft when driving and just pumps in dust.
What NO tailgate damper ? Very disappointed. Everyone else has them, Tacoma, Nissan, Colorado’s, UM
Once you own a truck with a tailgate “damper”, you will always appreciate how it works. So much safer to drop.
I look at the Fords tailgate dampers and the aftermarket dampers, $50, most under $30. Ford I think, made a big mistake by not making the tailgate damper on all the Rangers. Not a deal breaker, but why make the Ford Ranger look like a cheaper truck?

Yes, the feeble and infirmed tend to buy Tacoma, Nissan, Colorado’s, ect........
So need things like that
Just joking, a little, in any case a 3rd party will release a kit for the Rangers if the numbers sold show there would be a market
