I have a 2020 Ranger XLT super crew 4x4. I'm blacking it out and bought a aftermarket smoked third breaklight ( LED) the problem is that when I went to switch it out I have 3 bulbs and the pigtail plug is different? Do they make an adapter plug? or can I just cut and wire it in? Any help appreciated.

 

3rd brake light can also have a Cargo Light, lights up the bed at night, controlled by Dimmer Wheel turned all the way up, Dome light AND Cargo lights will both come on

This is a 3rd brake light with cargo lights, two white lens's on each side, and 3 wire plug:
You can get "smoked" version LEDs with just the brake light, 2 wires, or with the cargo lights as well, 3 wires

the 3 wires
Dark green - 12volt for brake light
Black/Pink stripe - 12 volt for Cargo light
Black - Ground

You can cut and tape the end of black/pink wire, and just use the green and black wires for brake light

 

Thanks RonD! I did buy the one (smoked lens) with two cargo lights with the center brakelight! The stock light had a orange, black & white wires. The one I bought had a Red, black & white. I attached the red to orange, black to black, and white to white. Tested it and everuthing lit up like it supposed to. Took a gloss black scratch pen and painted the screw heads because the really stuck out, looks awesome! Thanks for the help!

 

Sorry, I read 2000 Ranger, lol, not 2020, so wrong wire colors

 

Do you have a dealer/OEM trailer brake controller installed? If so, the 3rd brake light is where the TBC gets its brake signal to activate
trailer brakes. So, wiring might be different.
