Window trim fade

Wondering if anyone else has had a problem with the bottom of the door window trim fading to grey? The dealer says this is normal and if replaced it will do it again. I was thinking about maybe a vynil wrap? Thoughts?

I replaced my driver side one at around 200K because the plastic surface was cracking. if yours is just fading you can use a black dye to get it black again. A vinyl wrap would probably work to. I don't have any experience with vinyl wrap.

I bought a new one for the passenger side too when I ordered the driver side. I still have not installed it because that side is still in good condition. The passenger side does not get as much sun where I usually park it.

I've tried srveral dyes. They dont last more than a week. I think its plastic and not a rubber type trim. i'll let you know when I get them wrapped.
