01 RANGER PROBLEM

01 RANGER PROBLEM

hey got a problem i can drive my ranger around 4 a while then when i go put it in drive it goes to 500 rpms then i put it n neutral it goes to 1000 to 1500 and when i put it in park it goes up to 1000 then to 500 and then cuts off by itself is this that air flow valve under that black cover under the hood that the wire is pluged up to or sumthang else

Yes. The IAC valve is under the cover. Take it off and use air intake cleaner to clean all the black out.

The problem with cars is that there are so many things that could cause the same problem.

I promise im not hijacking threads haha.

Try cleaning the IAC

fddriver02: i cleaned my IAC and ever since i have been running fine.. going on two days now with out having issues...
