2018 & 2018 V6 Differences

What are the principal differences between these two engines, if any? Have an opportunity to buy either, and all else being pretty equal, wanted to know if one is better than the other!!??
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum

We are in North America so could never get your T6 Ranger models here, ours were smaller, and 1983 thru 2012 only
We did get T6 size Rangers in 2019 to present, but only with the 4cyl 2.3l gas only engine

Try Australian Ranger forums, there are a few, they got the T6 Rangers there
There is also a South African Ranger forum, in English, they made some of the T6 Ranger there at the Ford Plant

Well that does make a big difference, lol

3.0l Vulcan engine was used by Ford from 1986 thru 2008, very reliable but most think under powered, nick name "3.slow"
4.0l OHV engine was used 1990-2000 by Ford also very reliable if NEVER overheated(will crack a head), lots of power

1993-1997 is 2nd generation, 1998-2011 is 3rd generation
Look almost the same
1998 has a change in fuel system, higher pressure, and in 4x4s a different front axle and suspension

Manual transmission was M5OD-R1 1988 thru 2011 reliable with either V6
Automatic was 4R44E or 5R55E, reliable for an automatic, Ford used this transmission from 1986 thru 2011, as A4LD(thru 1994), 4R(in 1995) and then 5R(in 1998/2001)

Definitely 97; build date 11/96. Think I've got an agreement at $750: has already had head gasket replaced, so probably bad heads: likely will order fully dressed set to be safe. Needs total brake system; plus gas is like 5 years old, so fuel system cleanout, at least.
See where it takes me from there: gear head in me still longs for 302 swap!!!!!
