3.0l to a 4.0l Question

Im lookin at going from a 3.0l to a 4.0l. I found one for $450 but its out of an explorer sport and I was wondering if they are any different from the rangers 4.0 and what else im gonna need to swap out when I change the motor. I'm assuming I'll need to swap motor mounts, tranny, rear end and wiring harness at the least unless I'm wrong. This is my first truck and I need your help in making it better. Thank You

i do believe the 4.0 is the same in the explorer ranger and sport trac. i am not sure if you need to replace the rear end or not but i would think yes to the trans. yes the wiring is totally different and you ned the computer. as for motor mounts i do not know

swap the trans as well the moyunts should be the same. if they are the same for the 4.0 ohv to sohc and the5.0 ohv then more then likely they are the same. you wont have to change rears although you might wanna. and definitely the wiring harness, but not the body harness only the motor harness as well as do a lil new wiring depending on what year your getting.

the body harness will most likely be a little different too because of the different computers. you should be prepared to have to redo brake lines in the engine bay cause im not too sure if they will be in the way of the new engine
