80 Series Flowmaster

How much louder is the 40 series comaped to this? I have the 80 series installed (Dual Pipes). I want the Delta's. The ones i want are the 40 series 3" Inlet and 2 1/2" Dual Outlet. How much louder is that compared to what i have right now?

I like the 40 series because at idle its not too loud, but if your behind the truck by the pipes you can hear it rumbling....then while driving at about 2500-3000 rpms it gets loud......

See Im thinking the opposite of both you and Rocky...my 40 annoys me after awhile...especially at 2500-3000 rpms...it resonates in the cab some much and just drones...gets annoying fast, especially if your trying to hold a conversation or talk on the phone. Other wise its mad phat, way sic sounding at idle. Im thinking however of plopin in a magnaflow or a 50 or 80 flow. How does yours sound at idle?

it doesnt idle to loud. Its loud while driving but not that loud. Deffinately not as loud as the 40 but u can easily hold a conversation or whatever and u can hear the sound. Hey, if i get my 40 would u want to buy my 80 series off of me? Id sell it for 40. Only on truck for about 3 weeks. Let me know.

If you want a "quieter" 40 series with little resonance, get a Delta flow 40 series.

you'll need to get a centered inlet, 2.5-3.0" is OK. As long as it's those specifications, you're good..
