Air Filter Upgrade

Hey everyone, new to group but would love some input. I upgraded my air box to a k&n but it seems awfully small for the area it could support. Is there a suggested size for direct replacement of the box?

The K&N "ColdAirIntake" technically is not an upgrade, doesn't give you any extra performance, despite sales claims.
FactoryOE AirIntakeBox already pulls in the coldest available air from in front of the grille.
But heck if you've got money to burn, why not; the K&N is "prettier" than the stock air box!
Click here for details of my own experiment & results with the AirIntakeBox for a V6~4.0L~SOHC.

Really? That's interesting, I mean I'm not assuming record breaking numbers. In my testing with what I have done as of now for the filter alone- only driving results, no Dyno, some live data feed via OBD2 port- she feels more powerful, I have many folks compliment the sound, she can drift around corners now where she couldn't prior, the response feels better and I have seen a 1-2 mpg difference (about 3mpg when long distance highway driving)- and she still loves mud and creeks.

I have only spent $40 on a filter during this process, not hundreds. I do plan on building a heat dissipation wall as I know it's pulling in some heat off the engine bay (especially at idle) but I also have to be considerate of it draining water out. I don't wanna build a wall till I have a good filter size

That's funny....All that with just a $40 filter...LOL. Trust us, its all in your head. All your getting is noise while it sucks in all that hot air from the engine bay.

Awe heck man....do like Jim Bob down the road did to his truck. He cut the muffler off for about 500 HP. You should hear him coming by what seems close to 200 mph. He's soo hip & cool everyone wants to be like him. That K&N intake all shiny new should make the statement proving to everyone that you know what's right & proper almost intelligent way to invest in only the best when it comes to performance and HP. No off-brand named shtuff for you.
