Anyone do a 2.5L to 4.0L swap?

Just kickin the idea around. Just purchased a 98 4x2 with the 2.5 in it. I want to learn as much as i can before i go purchase a 4.0 to swap. I read somewhere that its actually pretty straightforward. Anyone have the experience?

Just turbo it. Don't waste your money on the 4.0.

Only in a ranger, can you get a 4.0 with the power of a 2.5. and the fuel economy of a 5.4 lol

Buy a car. ha.

Go get something with power.

Shouldnt have bought a 2.5 in the first place. I can keep going bud.

If your going to turbo it your going to need to think engine management, manifolds turbo blah blah blah.

May as well do a 5.0 swap or sell your truck and buy a 4.0L

...douche...

This 2.5 is my toy. Just got this beater off of craigslist a few weeks ago. Ive got a 08 5.4L F150 FX4, i dont need a car. Get off your pedestal. I was simply trying to find information and you come at me with a arrogant attitude.

There is a search function.

Your options:

5.0 Swap.
Turbo'd 2.5L

Selling your 2.5L and getting a 4.0L.

Enjoying what you have.

If you have a 5.4L I would keep the 2.5L for fuel economy..

Seems like a lot of trash talk for a simple question regarding a swap.

I did search myself and nothing popped up on this forum. I don't know, maybe I'm an idiot too and can't seem to find such an obvious informational library on the subject

Cut the initial poster some slack and unless someone has some constructive advice maybe they should keep their sarcasm to themselves.

fx4wannabe, my frustration wasnt aimed at you. It was at another poster who was just being a little arrogant towards me. Its all good now! I guess i might have been a little on edge cuz it was a long day of work. Anyway, thanks for all who contributed. Ill just keep it the way it is. I was just seeing what my options were. thanks again guys.
