BAMA Tuner help needed

Hey guys,
I just bought a BAMA Tuner from Charles (OffRoad 4x4). He had the same truck as me just a 2000. 4.0 ohv, 4x4, 5spd, 4.10 gearing etc. Even has the same computer code. He says, and i have no reason to doubt him, that his truck was returned to the factory settings prior to trading it in. When I went to install the tuner a trouble code flashed "wrong vehicle" (#21) and thats where we stand now. My question to you guys the gurus of all things Ranger is this. Once the tuner is installed on one truck, is it locked to that vin? Is there a way to get this to work on mine? I have a call and an e-mail in to BAMA and i'm just waiting to hear back. Any help on the unlocking process and suggestions on what to do would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot everyone.

The XC2 is locked to his vin code. To change that, go to www.sctflash.com and download "live load". That program will allow you to unlock the XC2.

Note: I don't know if that will also erase all the bama files off the tuner or if it will allow you to connect to the vehicle while keeping the bama files and just re-downloading your stock file from your truck's computer.

Best person to ask would either be Doug (If you can ever get a hold of him) or Bob (SoundPer4mance).

Thank you. I just looked at that site and the live load program I found is the version 3 and it looks to be for the XCalibrator2 I have the older version. Its just an XCalibrator. Like so:
Would this work for this module? Is there an earlier version. Thanks again for the help already and the quick response.

I have no idea. Your best bet is to post a topic over at www.sctflash.com in their forums. Someone there will know.

I am pretty sure you need to send it to Doug ( bamachips ) because it's locked to his truck ( vin # ) that's why it says wrong vehicle,if he return his truck back to stock then all Doug needs to do is change the vin # and load it with the tunes for you but I am sure that he's going to charge you money for doing that !
