You're not going to get a definitive answer. Here's what I use:
Mobil 1 Synthetic
K&N Gold Oil Filter.

For interesting reads:

Everbody has there preferences, I use Valvoline and Wix filters alway will.

I hate Fram and think they are worthless, but there are people who swear by them, so like many things in life you just have to pick a preference and go with it.

You really can't go wrong with Motorcraft oil and filters, especially since both are stocked in Wal-Mart.

Truth be told, most oils these days are pretty good.

truth be told most oils, just like gasoline, are made at one of maybe 3-5 rifineries. lots of companies share products so it doesnt matter. make sure the oil has the current and best ratings recommened for ur engine.

IMO, to have a true oil filter test one would need to have several oil filters from a set of changes (say 3 of the same filters in a row) and have the oil and filter media tested at an oil analysis lab. that should show which filters the best.

Motocraft is all I use for oil and filters. Every once in a while I might use wolf's head...

i use SuperTech syn for the ranger and xploder ($11 for a 5 qt jug). over on BISOG.com they give it good reviews and it seems like one of the best guys for the buck IMO. i also run ST dino 10W30 in my F150 for years and havent had any problems.

Well I know that police cars use el cheapo stuff. For more than 5000 miles and those engines are RAN hard. SO Other than that I got nothing as for what is best. But I do believe that optikal has a point.

I use Amsoil Series 2000 0w30 in my truck. I use the "Ea" series Amsoil filters and change the filters every 10k and the oil once a year (about 20k). Oil testing shows the oil is holding up but I change it every year whether it needs it or not.

Nope. 0w30 is not a typo -- that's the rating. My truck is supposed to use 5w20 but I don't like that stuff.

This oil does very well in my truck.

I just switched over to Amsoil (5w-30 w/ EAO15 filter) in my truck, I did the engine flush and what not then put the Amsoil in. So far milage seems a little better, it will take a couple tanks to notice that, but all is good
