Borla Muffler

for those running a borla muffler, which kind are you running?
i do not want a sound like a flowcrapper. i hate when it getts all high and raspy. a mellow sound would be best.

or any other high flowing Muffler(not a glass pack, dont want to sound like a tractor) that is single in single out post them up.

i had a borla ProXS SI/DO on my 2000, it got rid of the raspiness that the flow40 had at higher RPMs. SI/SO would be even more mellow if thats what you're after.

I'm running a Hooker Aero Chamber. Nice low sound outside and mostly quiet in the cab while driving down the Hwy. It's one of the best flowing mufflers, built very strong, and at $65 brand new form Summitracing.com, it is priced right.

i also have JBA headers on the truck already so i hope the 2 will give a decent gain together.
at about 2800rpm how does the truck sound in and outside the cab?
with the gears i will be running i will be around 2800 at 70-75mph..

and are yal running a full tail pipe or dumped? i may run mine out the bed side if i can make a bracket that rivets on. but im not sure if i want to cut up the bed

I am running a Borla ProX/S and couldn't be happier. It is quiet/ mellow, but still audible. My muffler is SI/DO.

that is the setup i have, but its dumped at the back of the bed. it is super quiet.

i like the added noise from the headers though when you mash on it.

hey Zabeard, hows the interior sound? does it sound deep throughout the rpms or does it get raspy and high pitched?

was anything affected from headers and the exhaust? gas mileage? HP/Tq? throttle response?

Well mine was 2.5" header back exhaust, with JBA headers, and Tubro muffler with single in single out but straight through design one. With a 18" Long 3" tip it was sexy. Sounded real mean but had drone at 3 grand. The headers did make a difference in performance and sound. Not a huge difference, but for 400 bucks I didnt expect them to.

factory is 2.25

I am running 2.25 all the way through works great, keeps the noise down, but 2.5 might be better. That is what I will try next.
