mine went out and won't hold a charge. so i got a new one. my question is when you charge it how much refrigent oil do you put in it?

 

Rotate the A/C compressor shaft 6 to 8 revolutions while collecting oil in a clean measuring device.
If the amount of oil drained from the old A/C compressor is between 85-142 ml (3-5 oz), pour the same amount plus 30 ml (1 oz) of clean PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) (YN-12-D) WSH M1C231-B or equivalent into the new A/C compressor.
If the amount of oil that was removed from the old A/C compressor is greater than 142 ml (5 oz), pour the same amount drained of clean PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) or equivalent into the new A/C compressor.
If the amount of oil that was removed from the old A/C compressor is less than 85 ml (3 oz), pour 85 ml (3 oz) of clean PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) or equivalent into the new A/C compressor.

 

you da man. you can do this removed from the truck right? how many bottles of refrigerant do you think it will take to fully recharge my ac lines?

 

yes it has to be removed with the line ports facing down, you will need 1lb 14oz, id recommend having it put into a vacuum by a shop though, R134 is hygroscopic and as soon as you open the system starts to absorb water, decreasing performance, the system needs to be out into a vacuum once it is all closed back up to boil the water out

 

alright. thanks justin. now the brain buster. i had a hole in my a/c hose. you know the one that runs down by the belt tensioner right. so will i still get oil out of the compressor?
