Clicking/ticking coming from engine, smell of burning oil as well....
Have a friend with you...seafoam, pick it up at walmart, kmart, anywhere that sells automotive stuff. About $8 a can. Pour half into your fuel tank at fillup, then have your friend keep the truck running by feathering the throttle and pour the rest into the vacuum line from the brake booster. It WILL smoke horribly, but run perfectly after.
NO....pour 1/3 of the can into the gas tank when its almost EMPTY (truck should be turned off), start the truck, fill another cup with 1/3 of seafoam, have the booster suck it up little by little so it does not stall the IDLING engine, then the other 1/3 can be dumped in your oil fill when the truck is off. Run the truck after all the seafoam has been put in, allowing all the smoke to blow out, drive it about 100 miles then change the oil.
Also, how do you get the vacuum line off?
If its the same mechanic that is always working on your truck, then that answers all the problems with your truck. I have done it, MANY others have and our trucks are still on the road going strong.
Using the brake booster you only will fog the last 2 cylinders, look for a line on or near the throttle body.
Seafoam can be used in the fuel, oil, or in the intake. Its on the can for instructions.

Uh, no. It's not the same mechanic. It was the mechanic that restored my uncle's 57 Chevy and has an entire fleet of classic cars, and also a brand new Boss 302. Guarantee this guy knows more than you about it.
Then I guess its you then
Here's a great little site. It's SeaFoam's official site. It has a great feature showing you how to properly use the product. There are very easy directions for putting seafoam in with your OIL. It's so easy, a Pete could understand it. Now, stop your damn arguing and admit you're wrong.

I am just trying to prevent members from taking advice from you when you dont even know what you're talking about.
I just lost 50 points on my IQ by reading this thread.
I've got a can of seafoam setting in the garage waiting to be poured in the gas and/or oil as per the directions on the can & what I've read on their website.
Seeing as how I just filled the tank up & just had the oil changed I need to wait a bit before I can use it.
People, read the instructions on whatever you're using. If you can't read, have someone read them to you slowly.
