I want more horsepower out of my 2004 4.0L V6
its all stock so all ideas are good with a reasonable price

 

Well welcome to R-F for starters.

You'll find that the 4.0 doesn't have a lot of cheap performance upgrades. The best bang for the buck is a tuner.

 

I think a 5.0 swap is a better bang for the buck.

But he wants 4.0 upgrades. So the tuners I believe are the best option. Your only other option is a supercharger, but thats not cheap.

Intake, Exhaust, and programmer. You should be able to get all 3 for about $1000. Jba headers help too, but the cost for the gain isn't realized until you get a supercharger.

How much are you looking to spend?

There are a few other items like underdrive pulleys and coil packs, but there hasn't been any testing on those to show any gain.

 

That is a very subjective and loaded statement.
