MSD Anyone?

Ok, I need a lil help wiring up an MSD box on the truck. I have not purchased one yet for a reason. I am pretty sure I can wire up the 6AL box, but if there is a more recommended one for this ignition, someone let me know. Are there any direct harnesses to be purchased as well or am I just gonna have to splice into the factory harness. No opinions please, just facts and professional advice. Thanks in advance!!!

i know you said no advice, but isn't the stock ignition better than a MSD 6AL? why you want to run the MSD?

I need a rev limiter!!! Plus I really like the options that come with msd. Im not set on a 6al, thats why I asked if there were other boxes that would work better. Plus I would like to have a tach that reads over 6 grand and can keep up with the engine's rev capabilities.

What about MSD's DIS 4 ignition? That box is built specificly for late model engines with DIS on them.

agreed.... i'd go this route. i think the MSD DIS-4 would be great for your application.

I have a MSD 6-AL on my 1994 s-10. It all plugged in with no problems. I gutted all the computer functions and carbed the motor so the rev function was critical for me. The rev limiter function saved the engine at least 3 times. The tranny went out half way down a 1/4 mile run and the net effect was the truck being in neutral with the gas pedal floored down. It could have been bad.
