engine runs than dies.

i have a problem, when i start my truck,it runs for a few seconds than it dies,i have to hit the gas in order to keep it running,what is the problem?what would cause this to happen? thanks for all the help.

I had the same problem. My fuel pump was bad, I'd look there or into the fuel filter first, then go from there.

my 4.0 ohv runs like it has a load on it when i first crank it and then starts to sputter and then eventually runs normal... our problems probably all have the same solution

i was also thinking a fuel filter,has not been changed since i got the truck 2 years ago.thanks.

thats an easy fix. just sell me your truck.

it sounds like a fuel filter, fuel pump, or maybe your not gettin any air. id go through the easy stuff first like the filter and see what you come up with

hell if i was in minnesota id love to get it off your hands. ive always liked your truck. maybe next time im in Deerwood and you really want to sell it well work soemthin out.

Try and unplug your maf, then start and see how it idles.

If it runs the same the maf is ok. Make sure you shut down before pluggin the maf back in.
