Engine swap

I have a 94 Ranger with a tired 4.0 in nit. I want to install a 4.0 from a 97 in it. Any issues with cylinder heads, cam or anything else being different?

all the wiring will be different. 94 is obd I and 97 is obd II. plus an interior change in 95 changed up all the wiring for the gauges, etc. now, you could possibly pull all the sensors/wiring from your 94 motor and transfer to the 97.

The plan was to use the 97 shortblock and everything else from the 94.
