Icon13 lean codes...sigh

alrighty guys, i know i know did you search first.... YES, but i have so other things as well.

i got the P0171 and 0174 codes...lean in both banks. im also having idle issues. when i stat it, its good until the idle drops to around 750(normal) but then dives well under 500 and nearly dies... ocasianaly it will, even at a stop light. im also having cold start issues, when i havnt drove the truck in about a half hour i have to crank on it for a while, or prime the pump 2-3 times(clicking the key on and off before starting). altho i think it may be somthing else like a check valve in the pump. this proble has been ongoing for quite longer than the codes. im also getting **** poor mileage, but its a sohc on 33's and stock gears...

thoughts, direction, and help are well welcomed!

The hose underneath the radiator hose that leaks? What you are describing is exactly what mine was doing, that hose was leaking, fixed it, and is perfect now.

can anyone tell me where this elbow would be on a 95 4.0. I've looked at a few of the tutorials but they all seem to have the pcv near the throttle body but I'm not seeing on my truck but i'm having the same symptoms. Rough idle lean codes in both banks P0171 and P0174. I cleaned my maf and that didn't seem to do anything for me. Any help is appreciated

95 would be a pushrod or cologne 4.0, which does not have this elbow..the pcv valve is on the rear of the drivers side valve cover ( i beleive)

hmm then thats probably not my problem. Doh I was hoping it would be something simple. with 218k I really don't want to start throwing parts at it

check the pcv and all gasket areas between the throttle body and the heads (throttle body gasket, iac gasket, upper intake gaskets, pcv, vacuum lines off the intake etc)

I did a really good writeup for people with problems like this on adaptive fuel diagnosis techniques that would probably help you but the damn mods never stickied it like they should have.

Well I found the issue. I used a trick from my turbo vw days and induced alittle pressure (7 psi) into the intake system and found my leak. But as I was looking through my Haynes manual I realized I have a pushrod v6 so I wasn't sure if theres a better place for me to post but here is a picture of the problem. I believe it has to do with the EGR

that little sucker just pisses air out. All the other hoses and lines seem good although there could be other problem area's once the area is actually able to pass that section. Any experience with fixing this seal?

opps I guess my arrow didn't come out so well the line that I am referring to is the metal hard pipe that is right behind the AC pipe. The metal pipe is question goes from the Intake manifold to the left header. I believe its for the EGR system? I'm thinking about just mixing up some jbweld and sealing that sucker up.
