Well IF my cats are bad, this is what i am thinking about doing, need ya'lls thoughts..
Magnaflow performance Cats
Straight pipe to gibson muffler
straight pipes to gibson tips straight out the back.
Basically get rid of all the bends/curves of the original gibson pipes, and go with pipes straight out the back..
What do you think?
My goal is to get a little louder and maybe a little deeper..

I have NOOO idea... And i already have this Gibson Muffler lol.. Its got like maybe 1K miles on it.. Whats the difference in sound with the Magnaflow? which one is best?
And what do you suggest for pipe size?

Not to my knowledge. It's just too big for the 4.0. I think some high buck exhaust for V8's run 3" and I know Diesels run even bigger (if I'm not having a total brain fart).
hmm. didnt think about replacing the pipes BEFORE the cats lol.. We will see what the shop says about my cats.. Im kinda hoping that they are bad, and they are whats causing my truck to run so bad..
um, im not sure.. its two cats.. heres a link..

Yeah your right. MBRP makes a 3" kit for the 5.4 V8. Normally the diesel is 4" or 5"
If your stockers are clogged up you'll gain some power back but I wouldn't keep my hopes up for a lot of extra power. If clogged cats are your problem though you'll notice a difference with them. But Magnaflow or OEM would be about the same
yeah.. I wish there was a sure fire way to check my cats myself.. Without having to take it to the shop lol.. Im mainly looking to gain back all the power/sound i have lost since my truck started running like poo.
could clogged cats cause my symptoms?
Makes sense, Runs Ritch as hell( computer would be trying to compinsate maybe?), and its quiter than it used to be. and there is like NO power
