Flowmaster 40 vs Super 40 vs Delta Flow 40
What is the sound difference between these three mufflers. Original 40, Super 40, Deltaflow 40? Loudness exterior and interior, in cab resonance, idle, WOT, accelerating. i just donw ant something that is buzzy in the cab like my buddies 3.9 dakota with a flowmaster orig 40. it sounds likea weedwacker in your ear i dont want that.

Flowmaster sound pretty good. They don't "Flow" CFM the greatest though. My buddy straight piped his 4.0, and it's pretty loud. I wanted alot of flow, but not as loud. I welded in a Red Hot glasspack from Flowtech. Nice mellow sound, and flows just as good as the straight pipe.
Flowmaster 40 series= 457cfm
Dynomax UltraFlow SS=1000cfm
Dynomax UltraFlow Welded=1225cfm.

I agree with the two above, but along the lines of Flowmaster, since i used to sell them, Super 40 series has a Larger casing and has the loudest rumble, with lots of reverberation, especially when just sitting there at a light( sounds like some one has there bass up to high in the car next to you.... then the orgional 40 series, is the most common, it gives you that flowmaster rumble and has a smaller casing and thats it.... now the Delta Flow is the best of the three 40 series, because it has extra baffolding inside so that you do not get the reverberations coming threw the cab or to the interior, and yet the DF still retains its Flowmaster like sound and performance, so if you are stuck on getting Flowmaster then i say pick up a Delta Flow series you wont be disapointed, it will cost a little bit more but its worth the work.....ok you could just got and get a Boprla Pro Xs and be done with it.....
