Fuse Problems

my truck died while driving, like someone turned off the key.
i have discovered in the passenger compartment fuse box that the #19 fuse (25amp for PCM Power Diode, Ignition, PATS) has blown.
i have check all the conections on those parts i could and replaced the fuse. it blows imediatly when the key is turned to the start position.

anyone have this happen before? where is my best start point?

oh i have a 6cyl, 4L pushrod

check the wiring harness just below the battery zip tied to the metal inner fender

check to see if any of the wirings insulation have been ground off and is grounding out to the metal fender

check the ground connections at the driver side fenderwell in the engine bay, I had the same problem with my truck dieing when driving, I found a loose ground there, tightened it
up and all was good.

Sorry to contradict ya, loose ground won't cause a fuse to
blow, loose ground will cause an open circuit, not a short circuit

That still shouldn't cause an over draw of power, as the device on that circuit should restrict the flow enough to not let the fuse blow

tha being said, it wouldn't hurt to check, I just really don't think that's where the problem is

just something to check, somewhere for the op to start looking. I realize that it is unlikely for the fuse to blow from that loose ground, mine did not, but my truck died while driving, just like his did, and just like cheese man mentioned, the arcing, but if the ground is not loose then he can rule that out and look elsewhere. easy to check, I found the problem by
accident, but I was getting frustrated to that point, just trying to help.

fuse still blowing. followed the wiring diagram and some tips and found more thats not wrong. it is not the pcm relay, not the coil pack (still blows when disconnected), checked the grounds i could find, ground wire to alt looks good. undid and reconected alot of connections.

anyone know how to bypass the security system? maybe a short in there causing this. i have a chiped key
