Gas tank issues
So I have a 02 XLT and when I fill up gas it only goes to 12 gallons. Even if I hold the nozzle it spills out after 12. But everyone I ask says the tanks only are 16-19 gallons not 12. Not sure what’s wrong.

From my assembled Ranger notes; stuff I've copied from various sources.
"Fuel Filler Neck is coaxial. Fuel enters in the center. Tank vents through the outer. The tubes separate at the tank. A white flap at the fuel tube base can jam shut. This slows fueling.
I don't know the motion of the white flap. Maybe you can poke it with a stiff wire?
