Gas tank and pump question

Need a little help, we are building my son a 2001 ranger with the 4.0. My question is I would like to remove the fuel tank and install a fuel cell in the bed, is that possible and how? Do i just need a fuel cell and then an inline electric fuel pump? Its offroad only truck

Yes, that should do it

2001 will have return line on the fuel filter that maintains the 60psi fuel pressure, if you will not be using that then you will need a pressure regulator on the line, set for 55-65psi

Ford fuel gauges use 16ohms EMPTY, and 158ohms FULL, if you add a sender in the fuel cell and use the Ford dash
