is there anyway

to tell if its the belt squeeking or the pulleys because when i get the belt wet it doesnt squeek anymore but im also getting the pulleys wet at the same time because i cant get just the belt but its driving me insane and i dont wanna go buy something i didnt need.

I didn't need a belt, but i had a squeek. Used what everyone here suggested, a GoodYear Gatorback. And it cured any and all squeeks I had.

You can spray some belt dressing on the belt and it will stop the squeek. They sell it at Wal-Mart in the automotive section.

Read them those belt dressings are for V belts almost all the time not serp belts the stuff will get all over everything under your hood I recommend just going and getting a new Gatorback belt that should really help all the squeeks. Cheap fixes are only temporary and are really not a fix at all man

dude try the gatorback belt and rent the tool at autozone its free, I had rediculously loud squeels and they were constant, after the gatorback belt no more squeel

but theres really no way to tell if its the belt or the pulleys? cause it doesnt squeel it sqeaks

mine did the same thing. mine was the tensioner pulley and bad belt. look at your truck and tell me if this thing https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=82914. if it rattles back and forth than its the tensioner. if you decide to replace the pulley you might as well splurge the 15$ and get the gatorback. i have had no issues.
