i think this is what mine might be doing. but it hardly does it. whats the fix for this? im under warranty still so should i take mine in?

If under warranty take it in to a tranny shop and have them read the code and then google the web. specifically try explorer-forums.com they have alot of good transmission information. Then learn what you can and take it back to ford telling them it is probably your valve body and gasket.... that way they can look right into that... but since its under warranty from ford have them do there work on it...

I am getting a reworked valve body from NicksterSVT....
The Stage 3 kit that I sell used to go for 650 plus a 300 refundable core, but due to the increase in prices of parts, my cost on parts is more than what I used to sell the kits for.
The Stage 3 Kit includes:
A completely rebuilt valve body, seperater plate, and gaskets(to ford's specs) with all new solenoids(shift and epc) that gets worked to your specifications(how you want it to shift).
Upgraded intermediate servo, servo cover, servo spring, and o-ring seal.
Band adjusting nuts.
Transmission pan gasket and filter.
Transmission fluid additive.
Full step-by-step instructions with torque specs.

My "O/D" light started flashing once, at about 150,000 km (~90,000 miles).
Even while it was flashing, the shifts didn't feel any different, and there were no noticeable drivability issues.
This was about 1 1/2 years ago, and it happened when it was wet/slippery out.
I took the truck to a tranny shop, and they said that the codes showed that there was a problem in the 2 -3 shift range.
They told me that a re-build woudl be in the $2,000 (CDN) range, and that that was the only way that I could ensure that the condition would not recur.
Since it was due for a tranny filter change, I just had them do that and also flush out the system, and clear the codes.
When it is wet/slippery out, I take it extra easy on the gas, easing up and paying special attention when the tranny reaches the 2- 3 shift point, since it was under these conditons that the O/D light started flashing.
The "O/D" light flashing has not occured again, and I've put on almost another 150,000 km.
BTW, tranny filter and fluid are changed every 50,000 km (30,000 miles).
First have the codes read - but it could just be that you only need a filter and fluid change.
