high mileage seafoam?

high mileage seafoam?

hey whats up, my engine pings with anything past half throttle acceleration, is it safe to use seafoam in the brake booster vaacuum line with almost 180,000 miles on it?

Yes...

I would also add some to your engine oil / fuel tank and change the plugs and oil after all is said and done...

EDIT: make sure you replace your plugs with motorcraft factory replacements...

Yeah, it would be perfectly safe to use. And the reason he told you to use Motorcrafts is because they are set to the factory specs for your truck. Some plugs like Bosch, no matter how good they are have a tendency to ping in a lot of engines aside from the 4 cylinders they were apparently designed for.

You changed your plugs and didn't put motorcraft in, didn't you? I have a feeling thats why your pinging.

Even guys on the jeep forum I am on say running anything but champions in a Chrysler will net you the same (bad) results. one gentleman actually had dieseling above 3000rpms with bosch +4's...

no i havent changed them yet, i was just curious, but that explains it, thanks fellas, so put the seafoam in the booster line and just let it run till the smoke clears?

Put the seafoam in booster line (don't let it stall) use 1/2 a can, then shut if it off and let it sit 15-20 minutes, restart and let the smoke show begin!
